Catching my second Pokémon

I run in the mouth of the cave. Now's the time to catch my second Pokémon… finally. I enter the cave and feel an intense heat. Fire types are nearby. I wiped the sweat off my head as the heat worsened.

A wild Slugma was just sliding around on the ground when it caught sight of a trainer and his Ivysaur. A grass type should be easy to take out for him. He went over to the trainer ready to battle him.

Slugma eh... no problem. Ivysaur started to shiver, "Saur Saur Ivysaur!"("Please don't make me fight him!")

"Sorry Ivysaur, gotta do this somehow." He walked in front to battle the Slugma, "Alright Ivysaur, Take Down!" Ivysaur rushed at Slugma.

Slugma was slammed hard by the Take Down and hit a rock. He fell down and weakly got back up. He said to Ivysaur, "You're going to pay for that." He then used Ember on the Ivysaur sprouting flames from its mouth headed towards the Ivysaur.

I tell Ivysaur, "Use vine whip to push away from ember!" Ivysaur takes his vines, and with tremendous power, pushes away to avoid ember. Now was my chance, "Alright, your mine now!" I take a Poké ball from my bag, and throw it at Slugma.

Ivysaur gasps at me, "Wait, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!"

The Slugma disappeared inside of the pokeball and it shook three times. Then it dinged and stopped shaking signifying that Slugma was caught. Now it was time to go see Rika's gym battle.

On the way back to Pewter, Ivysaur glared at me the entire time. I stare at him with confusion. "What's wrong, bud?"

"Don't call me bud, you filthy douche!" Ivsaur yelled. I backed up, astonished at my partner's ferocity.

I ask him, "What's up?"

"You caught that fire type!" Ivysaur says.

Now I'm fed up with his prejudice against fire types. "Know what Ivysaur, just shut up." He starts to fold his arms, sits down and pouts. I sigh and keep going, pulling him back in his Poké ball.
