Personality: A very private person, Rika prefers to keep to herself rather than to engage with her peers. Of course, the flipside to this is that the few friends she has see a warmer, if still slightly reserved, side to her. That is, however, not to say she makes friends easily; most are put off by her coldness at the offset. Rika is a stubborn, protective individual, but is also strong-willed, capable, charming, and occasionally even doting. She is also extremely flirtatious, and loves to tease boys. Rika is sometimes considered cold and almost unfeeling, her standoffishness nine times out of ten the catalyst. As previously stated, Rika is highly private. Therefore, she is able to tease others, but becomes flustered if teased herself. She dislikes discussing romantic matters in public, especially if they pertain to her. She also has difficulty with confessions, mostly ones of an emotional nature.

Appearance: Her hair is styled in a short, razor pixie crop. The hue of its color is a mix between a light brown and blonde. Many have called it sandy-blonde. Her eyes have often been called black, but to be completely accurate, they are simply a very dark shade of green; they are emerald at their lightest. Rika has always been three things: tall, in track-and-field shape, and skinny as a rail. Despite pushing six foot, she only weighs 125 lbs; her body is also extremely masculine, and her facial features have been described as having an "androgynous beauty" to them. Angela has nicked her hands in life so many times already that they're covered in a whole network of scars, but those aren't the only scars she has; some come from her attempted suicides, at a very dark time in her life. As for tattoos, Rika has the words "scientia est potentia" ("knowledge is power" in Latin) tattooed on the right side of her rib cage. She has no piercings to speak of, but always wears a rather medium-sized cross necklace made from gunmetal.

History: She lives in Pallet Town. She never really knew her mother. Her step-father always told her that her mother – Sierra – slept around for money, and that she just up and left when Rika was two. That was a lie, she found out later, as Sierra would just show up at random times, usually whenever she felt like it. Rika was around three or four when her step-father started beating her on a daily basis. He'd come home to the dirty apartment they lived in stoned drunk, amuse himself with her pain for a few hours, and then pass out. This went on for about three, or four years – she doesn’t really remember, as a time-frame back then is hard to place, what with all the things Rika got her head smashed into, be it a wall, a door, or whatever else. When she was around seven or eight, her step-father started using her in more ways than before.

He raped her - did it again and again for the next five or six years, too. During the time between when Angela was ten and twelve, she joined a gang, and her fellow gang members taught her to fight. Of course, it was mostly Asahi, the leader or the gang, and the first person to touch her in a rather loving manner. (As far as Rika knew, Sierra had just thrown her at Asahi's feet when she was eleven, and told the gang leader that she could do whatever she wanted with her.) Rika received a lot of things as they just turned up at her place – but in all honesty, she didn’t care; Rika became even more cold and heartless.

When she was around twelve, Angela joined Asahi's gang. About three years before she met Shannon (contrary to what most people thought, they weren't both fourteen when they met; she was fourteen, Shannon was sixteen) when she was twelve, she finally nerved herself, and left her step-father. Angela didn’t even stop to think about what might happen if she hadn’t left him; she just ran. She spent the next 6 months years on the streets, living in abandoned buildings until finally she got picked up by somebody, and taken to the hospital.

During the two-year interim between when she woke up in that hospital and when she met Shannon, she attempted to kill herself so many times, she quickly lost count. After those times, her forearms would forever bear the network of scars which came from her cutting, and her attempting to kill herself. The rest of her body looked about the same, but about half come from her step-father's abuse. The other half come from her battles with Shannon. She almost succeeded a few times in killing herself, and a few times, she just cut. She never did get to the point of dying, though. After she met Shannon, and after she had finally realized what was truly important to her, Angela tried to fix herself and her life. She quit the gang - had to fight her way out, adding just that many more scars to her already impressive collection. Then, she settled to fixing her own life, with Shannon’s help.
